If you dream of studying in the UK, there are many ways to make it a reality! Nowadays, various scholarship or subsidies are available for Indonesian students looking to study in UK universities.
Internal Scholarships/Subsidies:
Every university in the UK has either a scholarship or subsidies, usually in the form of a tuition fee waiver, that is available, especially for international students!
Depending on the programme, the scholarship amount can range from £1,000, £10,000 to fully funded scholarships, so make sure to not miss out. To receive it, you will have to check with your university if it will be automatically given or if you must submit a separate application.
British Council GREAT Scholarships:
Another option you may want to look into is the GREAT Scholarship. This programme is funded by both the UK government's GREAT Britain Campaign and the British Council with UK universities. It is an incredible opportunity that grants £10,000 towards tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate degree.
Great news! Indonesia is one of the 14 countries that can apply for this scholarship for a selected number of UK universities.
LPDP:
LPDP stands for Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (Indonesian Endowment Fund for Education) and is a scholarship scheme granted by the Indonesian Ministry of Finance. This scholarship is fully funded and available in four categories that each have different requirements and benefits.
Although, it is to be noted that once you have finished your LPDP scheme you are required to return to Indonesia.
Chevening Scholarship:
You can also explore the Chevening Scholarship, which is an international scholarship. It is funded by the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations.
This scheme grants full financial support (this includes flights, accommodation, and course fees) for a master’s degree at a selected UK university. All of BritCham’s university partners are part of the Chevening scheme!
The required documents to apply for the Chevening scholarship include your education documents, references, and at least one unconditional UK university offer.
