Teesside University London is continuing to give back to the community by sponsoring a local football team for the new season.
And the youngsters from Hackney Wick FC have also been invited to Teesside to experience the facilities at the University, play against a local team and attend Boro’s first home game of the season against Millwall at the Riverside Stadium next month.
Teesside University London is committed to working with the local community and forging strong links in the area. It has agreed to be one of the sponsors for Hackney Wick FC as a way to enthuse and engage young people with higher education opportunities.
It follows Teesside University London’s sponsorship last month of two junior football teams in the 32 Borough Cup which was held in the capital.
Kathryn Elliott, Head of Partnerships at Teesside University London, said: “We are committed to working with the local community and hope that by supporting young people in this way, we can make an impact on their lives and enthuse them about the wide range of opportunities that higher education provides.
“We are incredibly excited about this sponsorship and look forward to welcoming the youngsters to Teesside so they can see more about what our University has to offer.”
Teesside University London is Teesside University’s new campus based at Here East in Stratford, and it is due to welcome its first cohort of students this September.
