The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) has been confirmed amongst the best universities for student experience, according to the latest Sunday Times Good University Guide, which places the University in the top 10 for student satisfaction for the second year running.
The Sunday Times University league table 2021, published on 20 September, confirms the University is in sixth place of all UK universities for student satisfaction.
It also places UWE Bristol in the top 20 for teaching quality (13th) and in high positions for subject league tables in areas including building (8th), social work (10th), creative writing (11th) and architecture (joint 12th). UWE Bristol also came 58th out of 131 universities overall in the newspaper's latest higher education guide.
The Sunday Times guide said: "Students at UWE Bristol are among the country's most satisfied with their university life. UWE Bristol has one of the largest internship programmes at any university and graduates can apply for help to set up a business in an incubator hub on the Frenchay campus.
“One university ambition is to drive forward growth in apprenticeship provision working with local councils to close skills gaps. By September 2021, UWE Bristol expects to double the numbers on its apprenticeship courses to 2,000. The university has maintained a strong position in our table for the third year in a row, well within the upper half of UK universities and among the top 10 post-1992 universities."
On the latest guide, Vice-Chancellor Steve West said: "Although our position in the overall guide remains unchanged, we're pleased to report the guide confirms our reputation for providing an excellent student experience by placing us again in the top ten for student satisfaction, in the top twenty for teaching quality, and strong performances in subject areas mentioned above. All these achievements are down to the incredible efforts of our staff, a real team effort."
UWE Bristol was also ranked 21st in the Guardian university league table earlier this month, as well as 2nd in England for undergraduate student satisfaction and number one in the South West in this year's National Student Survey.
