Solent University shortlisted for top national award

Solent has been selected as a finalist for University of the Year in the annual Social Worker of the Year Awards.

Solent delivers a variety of programmes for students studying Social Work, and is one of three finalists in the University of the Year category, the winner will be announced at a special awards ceremony in London on Friday 4 November.

Supported by Coventry City Council, the University of the Year award recognises outstanding and effective social work education for its students and shaping the social workers of tomorrow into reflective, compassionate and resilient practitioners.

Interim Course Lead in Social Work at Solent, Marietjie Joubert commented: “We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for this respected award. We are proud of our diligent team of staff, this nomination is a credit to them.”
