Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS): What Is It and How To Get It

Congratulations for getting an offer letter from the UK University! Once you get the offer letter, it means that you are qualified to be one of their students. The next step to get closer to begin starting university is preparing your Student Visa and other important documents.

What is CAS?

CAS is one of documents needed to apply for your Student Visa. It is a statement from your university confirming that you have accepted your place and paid a deposit of your tuition fee. The details of CAS statement include:

1. CAS number

CAS number is a unique reference number provided by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). It is only valid for six months after the issue date. For this reason, it is advised that you apply for your student visa during this period.

2. Study programme details

The details of your study programme are also written in the CAS statement, including the start and finish date of your study, course or major you will be taking, tuition fee, etc.

3. Personal details

There will be stated your name, date of birth, nationality, address, and other personal details of you.

Normally, a CAS is issued within 5 (five) working days; however, it may take a longer time during peak season. So, make sure to check your email regularly
